Just updating everyone on committees and stuff.
The modeling meeting and conference meeting were both successful.
We’ve got flight times blocked out and some great leads on hotels. Everybody who’s going, we’re meeting again on Wednesday at 7 in 202… which as far as I understand WILL be open
Modeling meeting was quasi successful…. I hope everyone’s gonna have some hot models (and I mean office supplies man! Rawr) to show off on Wednesday. Also remember that we’re still doing redesigns for the layout of the lab. DONT FORGET! We are thinking both in and outside the box on these redesigns, and the sooner we get a floorplan nailed down the better! So if you feel like doodling, pull up the blueprint and try it out! Even for those not on the committee… if you’re feeling inspired, plug yourselves in, design a floorplan or model something from the list on the appropriate tab! Just tell us what you’re doing. The Modeling committee’s next meeting is on Wednesday at 5 in 202 so we can actually use Maya to open stuff up. If you all use 8.5, remember to render a file or save your product as a .ma (and Sanjin, you might want to bring your laptop just in case? Please?)
I hope everyone’s having a great summer, and we all hope Joel and Steph had a good trip. We’ll chat on Wednesday, Ciao for now!

Ok here is an email I got from my mom. Turns out that most of the hotels are already sold out so she reserved 4 rooms at Comfort Inn, to make sure we got somewhere to sleep.
————————————–
Here is the hotel that I am holding four rooms at because they only 9
left. The rate is $143 per night x 6 nights = $858 / 3 people = $286.00
per person. This is one of the only hotels that includes breakfast.
There is one concern I have and that is the room doors are all outside
rooms. There is another Comfort Inn in the area that also have
breakfast that have the room doors inside after walking by a lobby area
and would be $149.00 per night x 6 nights = $894 / 3 people = 298.00 per
person. This is only $12.00 more per person.
Let me know what you like better. I would like to change it if you like
the look of the hotel better.
I have attached the first hotel and will send the second hotel soon.
PS We need to book out air now or we are not going to get seats on the
plane. We can’t book these will everyone else and we may not be on the
same flights.
The message is ready to be sent with the following file or link

She booked the rooms through Siggraph by calling the 1800 number. She said that was the best we could get because of the free bus passes. If this is the hotel we want to use she just needs to call up to replace her credit information with ours.

Just bought my SIGGRAPH ticket. paid the extra $15 to have the tickets sent to my house so I don’t have to go to the registration table when we get there. I leave St Louis on the 3rd and am leaving on the 10th.
Joel, I am also going to the Sandbox exhibit (the video game thing.) Don’t remember if you said you were going to that or not. If not I will try to take good notes for you.
See guys at 6 tonight for the modelers meeting.

The meetings today went well. You can check details on the Modeling and SIGGRAPH meetings on their respective tabs, but I wanted to let everyone know that the progress is being made in those fields. There is another meeting for the modeling group tomorrow night at 6 in 202. The next SIGGRAPH meetings is next Wednesday at 7 in 202. If you are going to the conference please come if you want to synchronize watches.

Hey all! I’m going to need another count for those of you who are wanting a DVD of the guest SIGGRAPH speaker. I haven’t been able to get to the school to capture and burn it. Haven’t been up to Webster since the last day of school actually. I will be heading that way in a few days though to get that done. BTW does anyone foresee any problems w/ me getting into 202 and doing that?
Hugs to all - Andrea

Please check out the contact page and double check that the information, specifically the email addresses, are correct. I try to email everyone when there is something important posted on the site and I am getting error messages on at least two addresses.
Chris Walker and Craig Straubing. If you guys could double check the contact page and make sure I spelled everything in your email correctly I would greatly appreciate it.
