Hey guys, leave a comment on this post with what you plan on bringing to the BBQ on the 26th, along the lines of gaming consoles and whatnot. If you plan on bringing food, you can share that too, so that there aren’t like 15 bowls of macaroni salad or something.
I’m planning on bringing my 360 with Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Halo3. I also have the Orange Box if anyone else wants to bring a copy to play Team Fortress 2.. I haven’t gotten to play yet :[ BTW, no fosho promises on Rock Band since it’s so bulky, in case something comes up and I can’t bring it, but that’s the plan for now anyway. And I only have 3 controllers (if I can find them all), so if other people want to bring spares, that’s cool.. I think one of my controllers might be broken.
I can bring wiimotes and games (Rayman, Wario Ware, Wii Play) if someone wants to bring a Wii, but I don’t want to pack more than one console at a time.

Hey all! I just wanted to remind everyone that elections for next semester’s officers will be taking place at the next meeting, Thursday, April 17.
I strongly encourage those of you who are regularly involved in SIGGRAPH activities and have a desire to help make a difference in the INTM department to run - we need people who are passionate about maintaining the integrity and togetherness of our SIGGRAPH student organization.
The positions that will be up for election will be:
President (Currently held by Carol)
Presidential duties include organization and leadership of meetings, and cooperation with the Vice President and Faculty Advisor for organization of events (including Kinematifest). Any other responsibilities relating to the group will be filtered through the President, and must be delegated accordingly. The president must, with the vice president (and other officers if they so desire), attend occasional meetings with the Dean and SGA.
Vice President (Currently held by Leah)
The Vice President is responsible for assisting the President in the organization of events, as well as the organization and leadership of meetings as necessary (e.g., in the absence of the President). The vice president must, with the president (and other officers if they so desire), attend occasional meetings with the Dean and SGA.
Secretary (Currently held by Jen)
The secretary is responsible for keeping track of the members of the group, maintaining a current contact sheet, and making note of what occurs at meetings. The secretary may assist the President and Vice President as necessary.
Treasurer (Currently held by Jeremy)
The treasurer is responsible for making semesterly budget proposals and monthly budget reports for SGA. Additionally, the Treasurer is responsible for obtaining necessary reimbursements for SIGGRAPH purchases, and keeping track of the status of the budget. The treasurer may assist the President and Vice President as necessary.
Head of Marketing / Schwagmeister (Currently held by Ben)
Responsible for advertising and marketing of meetings and events. Designs and prints posters, fliers, etc. May be responsible for T-shirts and other schwag. The Schwagmeister may assist the other officers as necessary.
If you notice any errors or omissions, please change or inform as soon as possible.
If you’re interested in any of these positions, leave a post on WebUGraph with who you are and why you think you’re appropriate for the position. Attendance for hopeful officers will be mandatory for the next meeting (the 17th), as you will need to make a brief presentation to the group, and you must be present for voting. We will begin training the new officers as of the meeting following the election: May 1st.

Hey guys! Reminder that a week from today is the next meeting. It’ll be 2/21/07, likely in 202. I’ll be out of town, so Leah will be heading it up. Then Joel will be giving a quick tutorial in Dreamweaver! Yaaayyyyy!

Hey guys!
Just thought I’d give you all a heads’ up, since I heard Jeremy’d been getting cornered and questioned about this recently. Not really, but that sounds pretty funny, huh?
Anyway, our next meeting will be on 1/24/08 (next Thursday) at 9:30pm, and as of yet is still in good old 202. I believe we discussed at the last meeting of the semester that we’d do a lesson in traditional art, so thats what I’m planning on. Hurray!
Hope to see you all there!

Hey Team!
Just a friendly reminder letting you all know that tomorrow’s our SIGGRAPH meeting.
Josh DiCarlo, a Webster Animation Alumnus and Professor of Maya Character Animation has agreed to come do a Maya-in-30-minutes tutorial like we voted on last meeting, so come promptly at 9:30pm in 202 to get in on that lesson.
Don’t forget to come with ideas for other tutorials you’d like to see for future meetings.
As usual, there will be snacks! Hurray food!
Hope to see you there,
Carol

Hey guys!
Just reminding everyone that there’s a meeting this Thursday, the 13th, at 9:30pm. We’re still not quite sure where it’s going to be, but show up at 202 and we’ll point you in the right direction from there.
I look forward to seeing all of you there!

First of all, thank you guys for the awesome attendance to the last meeting - as you all may have noticed, in just two meetings, we’ve already grown out of comfortable seating capacity for 202. Don’t let that stop you from inviting more people, however, because we’ll soon be finding a new, more commodious location at which to host our meetings. The next meeting will be at the same time in the same place (10PM Wednesday, Sverdrup 202) for consistency’s sake, but don’t be surprised if we migrate the following week.
A reminder to everyone interested in membership, including those who are unable to attend the meetings on a regular basis, we will start collecting the agreed $20 semesterly membership fee as of the next meeting. The group at the last meeting was in concurrence that it is still appropriate to pay this semester’s fee in spite of our late start, simply to help the group get on its feet for the rest of the semester as well as the summer, during which time we are hoping to really get a lot done. The collective fees are very important, so please get that to one of the officers (preferably Jeremy, our new treasurer) as soon as you can. Thank you all for your cooperation with this - every bit helps.
On another note, we are still very interested in putting on an interactive media and animation showcase by the end of the semester. In other words, start thinking about things you’d like to submit, because we want to show off as diverse of a group as possible and really get our talents seen. We’ll start working out details for this in the coming weeks, but please do begin to at least consider the submission of your personal or school projects or shorts. The more content we have, the more likely we are to get this thing to happen. Also, don’t forget about the Rube Goldberg contest - it’s never too soon to start working on it!
A note to all 3D artists, as Joel mentioned in the previous post, we need to find volunteers to model the new animation department exactly how we need it. We’ve had a few people interested in working on the project (which is FANTASTIC, thank you guys!), but the more people we have working on it, the faster it will go. The faster it goes, the sooner we’ll be able to start actually getting the equipment in there. If that’s not motivation enough, I don’t know what is.
Thanks again, everyone! I look forward to seeing all of you again (and hopefully more.. bring friends!) on Wednesday.
-Carol
