Looking for Web Designer

Hi everyone, a family member of mine is looking to redesign his website. This is a paying job.

Please contact Philip Gounis at philipgounis@hotmail.com if interested

Thanks,

Dustin

Local company seeks videographer

had a friend ask me to pass this on to any Webster students that were looking for a project to add to their portfolio or for a class. It is unpaid, but she said they would offer letters of recommendation, etc.  Her name is Erica and can be reached either through ethrenn@customerdirect.com, or at 314-704-9586.

Here are the basics:

The company I work for is a call center based in Chesterfield.
We are amping up our customer service training and want to incorporate videos into the training. Ideally, we want to provide our new agents examples of “what to do” and “what not to do” via video. The setting would be here (probably in someone’s office), the actors would be our agents, and the actual video would consist of situations involving someone sitting at a desk taking phone calls, with some type of split screen with someone who is making the calls.

We’re currently in the process of scripting the scenarios.

We’re hoping to have scripting finished within the next two weeks, and would like to begin filming somewhere between two weeks to a month from now.

We anticipate that the filming shouldn’t take any longer than two days - I think our main concern would be editing. I don’t think it would be anything too fancy, but I know even the shortest of films can take a lot of time and effort.  If you know of anyone who could help, I would greatly appreciate it.  I think this would be a great addition to someone’s portfolio, in addition, we can provide letters of recommendation, and do our best to accommodate anyone willing to help.

I’ll leave my cell number in this email and if you want to pass this on, please feel free to pass on my number as well
It’s 314.704.9586.

Thank you!!

Erica Threnn

Siggraph 08

This is for everyone who is organizing their own travel arrangements.

I just received an email from SIGGRAPH stating that they changed the conference dates:

SIGGRAPH 2008 is Monday - Friday, not Sunday - Thursday. This schedule change maximizes your travel time so that your weekend is free to spend time with family or friends or to enjoy all of the Los Angeles attractions.

I just want to make sure everyone has the correct airfare tickets and hotel reservations. I will mention this change this Sunday at the meeting as well.

I’d be happy to forward the email to anyone who would like. I believe you get signed up for the mailing list by becoming an ACM member, but if not visit http://www.siggraph.org/s2008/maillist/ to sign up for the list.

SIGGRAPH BBQ Sat. April 26 @ Joels

Hey all!!

Just a reminder the Spring BBQ is at my place this weekend.

There is another post about what I am providing and what (if anything) people are bringing.

Bring a friend and something to eat/drink/share (if you want).

OK to come without bringing anything too!

All Websterites welcome. We will be starting things at about 3pm, eats at 5:30ish.

My phone is 314-962-6525

BTW We have set up so that we can accomodate the weather if everything has to be inside.

Also, if anyone wants to hook up a second Xbox or Wii bring one along. We have 5 locations set up for video gaming around the house (3 open if someone brings systems)

I am at 571 W. Lockwood Ave. just a few blocks from campus. My house is between Jackson and Algonquin on Lockwood just down the street from Bread Co., Straubs, SanSai…

Results and Reminders

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Just in case you were not able to attend the meeting this past Thursday, I thought it would be a good idea to post the results.

Here are your new officers for the 2008-2009 year:

President - Leah Bend

Vice President - Ben Triola

Secretary - Michele Narup

Treasurer - Amanda Walker

Schwagmeister - Shanese Williams

Webmeister - Tim Latham

On the reminders side this weekend is going to be busy. Saturday is the BBQ at Joel’s, which I hope to see everyone at. Also, I would like to remind everyone who is interested in SIGGRAPH 08 in LA and is not making other plans that we are having a meeting this Sunday at 5:00pm in 202.

Have a good rest of the week!

-Michele

Whachu Brangin’?

Hey guys, leave a comment on this post with what you plan on bringing to the BBQ on the 26th, along the lines of gaming consoles and whatnot. If you plan on bringing food, you can share that too, so that there aren’t like 15 bowls of macaroni salad or something.

I’m planning on bringing my 360 with Rock Band, Guitar Hero, and Halo3. I also have the Orange Box if anyone else wants to bring a copy to play Team Fortress 2.. I haven’t gotten to play yet :[  BTW, no fosho promises on Rock Band since it’s so bulky, in case something comes up and I can’t bring it, but that’s the plan for now anyway. And I only have 3 controllers (if I can find them all), so if other people want to bring spares, that’s cool.. I think one of my controllers might be broken.

I can bring wiimotes and games (Rayman, Wario Ware, Wii Play) if someone wants to bring a Wii, but I don’t want to pack more than one console at a time.

elections

Hi everyone!just putting in a post saying that i would love to run for the Head of Marketing/ Schwagmeister position for the 2008-2009 school year.I know this is  late post but I am a freshman Animation major and I have just recently become involved in Siggraph and I love to design.I think that i would be a good candidate for Schwagmeister because I was editor in chief of the year book my senior year of high school and have a lot of experience with design programs  like In Design and I really want to be more involved in Siggraph. So I hope that you will all consider me for this potion!Thank you and have a good one!-Dan!
